Laura Colby founded
Elsie Management in 1995 for the sole purpose of representing
her contemporary dance friends and peers at the annual Arts
Presenters conference – APAP. Today, Elsie Management
promotes the careers of national and international performing arts
companies on stages and performance opportunities across the globe.
Offering a combination of management and development services, along
with artist representation, Elsie Management consists of Director
Laura Colby, Artist Representative Sabine Dabady, and Office/Contracts
Manager Anna Amadei. Elsie currently represents sixteen companies,
artists, and projects: ranging from chamber-size ensembles such
as the New York-based Brian
Brooks Moving Company, to the Madrid-based world music
and dance ensemble Noche
Flamenca. With its office located in Brooklyn’s Navy
Yard, Elsie Management is a member of the Association
of Performing Arts Presenters, the North
American Performing Arts Managers and Agents, Dance/USA,
Western Arts Alliance, Dance
Theater Workshop, International
Society for the Performing Arts, and regularly attends national
and international performing
arts convenings.
