PROGRAM
Elsie Management seeks qualified candidates for its quarterly
internship program. Elsie Management offers management
and development services to its clientele of diverse performing
arts companies. Located in the Brooklyn Navy Yard, the company is
comprised of Director Laura Colby, Artist Representative Sabine
Dabady, and Contracts/Office Manager Anna Amadei. This is a 3-month
position for 20 hours of work each week. We use the following time
line:
Summer Internship: June –August
Fall Internship: September – November
Winter Internship: December – February
Spring Internship: March – May
We offer a $500 stipend per intern period. We are looking for someone who can work in a small office with
a tiny dog, is a team-player, and has a passion for dance and the
performing arts in general. Due to our production and deadline-oriented
schedule, candidates must be organized, personable, and able to
work under busy and sometimes stressful conditions. Working knowledge
of Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and Outlook is also preferred. Duties include executing promotional fax, e-mail, and letter campaigns;
maintaining office supplies; filing; fulfilling e-mail and telephone
promotional material requests; and database and office upkeep. Intern
also assists staff with preparation for and attends the annual Arts
Presenters’ Conference held in January as well as other regional
arts booking conferences. Due to the intimate office setting and
intensity of the business, the internship position can build excellent
professional skills and a breadth of knowledge that goes well beyond
the entry-level work involved.
