Brian Brooks Biography
Brooks started his first dance company at age 14 in his
hometown of Hingham, MA with a grant from the Massachusetts
Cultural Council. Since moving to Brooklyn in 1994, he has
danced in the companies of Sean Curran, Eun-Me Ahn, Neta
Pulvermacher, Kraig Patterson, Carolyn Dorfman, and Hilary
Easton, among others. From 2000 to 2002, he performed internationally
with MacArthur Foundation award winning choreographer Elizabeth
Streb. He founded the Brian Brooks Moving Company in 1997,
and has since created eight full-length works and dozens
of short dances for various festivals and performances.
