Biography
Since 1984, Dulsori has taken the Korean percussive
style known as pungmul to a whole new level. The performers use
kkwaenggwari (small handheld gong), janggu (hourglass drum), buk
(barrel drum), jing (gong) and numerous other authentic percussion
instruments with astounding choreography to create a driving performance
that inspires audiences.
Everyone's high-spirited energy mingles and the
ensemble always invites the audience to literally join the show.
Dulsori's energetic and passionate team has staged hundreds of international
performances. With repeat performances at WOMAD programming throughout
the globe, other recent performances include tours in Australia,
Israel, Africa, and across Europe. The group also conducts workshops,
classes, and festivals focusing on Korean traditional arts, open
to all age groups.
In 2005, Dulsori UK Ltd was established as the first Korean arts
company to have a branch in the UK. Their vision is to introduce
high quality Korean arts and culture in Europe, as well as in the
UK, while facilitating a clearer understanding across all cultures.
The company presents creative, highly skilled, and passionate Korean
percussion-driven performances. In January, 2008, Dulsori made its
