After the stunning success of the "dance phenomenon" Killa
(offoffoff.com), Nicholas Leichter and performer/composer Monstah
Black team up again for The Whiz. Inspired by the famous
musical, Leichter and Black mash up the music and movement of House,
Funk, R&B to create a 21st century version.10/11

Comfort salutes Barbie's 50th birthday with Beauty, a dancetheater
work exploring the notion that the beauty ideal presented to women
by our culture and media is impossible to achieve. The underlying

Mark Dendy celebrates his return with the restaging of "Afternoon
of the Faunes" from Dream Analysis (1998). Inspired
by a section of Nijinsky's diary, this duet for two men walks the
tightrope between madness and genius that was the tragedy of Nijinsky's
life.

Staged and scripted by Tony Waag (Tap City and the American Tap
Dance Foundation) and directed by Ann Marie DeAngelo, Thank You,
Gregory! features eight of today's best tappers with live pianist
accompanied by projections of film and stills from tap's rich history.

Dark Horse/Black Forest is intensely performed love story presented
in the most intimate of spaces - a bathroom. In this work, the audience
is privy to an emotional and private exchange between a couple that
ends in a formal, sensual dance.. Reservations required, each performance
is limited to 10 people. Luke Miller and Darrin Wright perform Sat,
Heather Olson and Jospeh Poulson perform Sun.

The Obie and Spalding Gray award-winning National Theater of the
United States of America presents Chautauqua! -- an ensemble
theater play illuminating the dynamic culture of New York City and
The Public Theater's rich history. This evening of entertainment
and education re-invents the American phenomenon of the Chautauqua
circuit into the present day. Special guests and performers TBA.

Noche Flammenca -- ISPA Pitch Session
The Times Center, 242 West 41st St, btwen 7 & 8 Aves
Artistic Director, Martin Santangelo, will introduce "La Strada,"
a narrative work told through the flamenco genre, based on the story
scripted and made famous by Fellini in his film of the same name.
"La Strada" will feature the celebrated Soledad Barrio as Gelsomina
and a bi-lingual actor as the Master of Ceremonies (the narrator).
You must be registered for the NYC ISPA Congress in order to attend
this session.
